Description
SX-70 w/closeup attachment and Artistic TZ
I love horses, have loved horses since infancy and much to my mother's chagrin, I never grew out of that love. I may not ride now, may not own a horse now, but I still appreciate anything horse-related and that includes this beautiful little pot that I purchased back in March at the Saturday Morning Market.
The design on the pot comes from that actual hair of a horse (either the mane or the tail, or both) and the pot itself is white stoneware clay, thus horsehair pottery. It is an art form that supposedly began with the Native Americans. Anyhow, I love this little pot and it has a special place on my desk next to a small display of shells I've found, a Petoskey stone, an origami crane a friend in Wales made for me, and other odds and ends.
